Tatsuhiko Asano was born in the Gifu Prefecture of Japan in 1966. He began playing guitar and home recording at the age of 14. He moved to Tokyo at the age of 21 in order to study at a fine-arts university where he participated in various bands and created experimental music. Asano's first single, "bonjour", was released on the "M.O.O.D/donut" label of Tokyo in 1996. In 2000 he composed music for the Nintendo video game "Doshin the GIANT". In 2001 Asano released his first full-album, "Genny Haniver", on Alec Empire's "Geist" label. All of these works received high critical praise. He is currently preparing a new album.
